Today I wanted to introduce a female Finnish artist that I really like: Helene Schjerfbeck, 1862–1946. Don’t want to say too much about her, her artwork pretty much speaks for itself I think. And by no means do I want to say I look like a painting, but this first portrait does resemble me just the same.
All artwork belong to Helene Schjerfbeck.

There’s a new vintage online store around, with some really nice goodies for grabs. Be sure to head straight over to Moddie, unfortunately only available in Swedish right now, but send them an email and ask if they deliver abroad if you find anything you really want. The prices varies a lot, and it’s definitely vintage, for thrifting you need to go elsewhere. Much like the sizes of the pieces I desire the most, the pictures here are really small, so sorry about that. Head on over to the original source to see them better. This orange beauty is my favorite.
Pink babydoll cutie.
My second favorite, anything red with white polka dots will grab my attention!
Pink with Peter Pan collar.
Classic white and blue mod dress.
Lastly a real gem from the 60’s, incredibly pretty aqua blue with white floral pattern.
I’m going for my first clothing swap tomorrow, am trying to not have any expectations at all so as not to be disappointed if all the other people showing up are tiny girls and nothing will fit me. Could be a lot of fun though, and I get to see the amazing vintage dress exhibition at the museum the event is being held at, for the third time, and now for free! So that in itself makes it worth it.
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Looking for new local graphic designers for work, instead I found a really talented illustrator: Emma Löfström. Her work is absolutely amazing, and I’m looking forward to following her career, that I am sure will be long and prosperous. This first beautiful tiger picture is a print available for purchase in the Swedish Save the Childrens online store, and all the profit goes to their work. I am seriously considering getting it for myself for christmas.

I am insanely tired, but just had to post this beautiful pillow I just saw here. I love it! I have a shower curtain in almost the exact colours as these, but without balloons. I was gonna say they would match, but I don’t intend to keep pillows in the bathroom, so I guess not, after all.
Okay, I said I was tired.

I was inside an Orla Kiely store when visiting London in April, and loved everything but felt a bit intimidated by the prices. I would never spend that much money on clothes or accessories. But here I can at least afford to admire some of their new dresses, that are really quite something. Maybe H&M could make some cheaper copies, or would that be unethical? The Wool Check Dress is my favorite of the bunch. Simplicity at it’s best.
Garden Bird Fairisle Dress is pretty amazing too.
Printed Silk Crepe Collar Dress with peacocks! Available with long sleeves too.
Birdie Wool Jacquard Panel Dress in turquoise.
Wool Jersey Double Pocket Dress in charcoal.
Wool Jersey Collar Dress in olive.
There are some rather gorgeous coats too, but I just wanted to share this supercute raincoat to round things off.

Via Black*Eiffel I found a pretty talented British paper artist called Jennifer Collier. Being a devoted paper enthusiast I just fell immediately in love with her works, especially since they also incorporate two other big passions of mine: typography and handwriting in old letters. Some of the items, which are all handmade one offs, are available for purchase in her shop and she also does commission work. First up is a beautiful and fantastically detailed typewriter, priced at £950.
Super 8 camera for £170.
Teacup with spoon, £55, and milk jug, £35.
Adorable music dress, framed, £250.
Map tie, framed, £95.
Map SLR camera, £140.
Postcard SLR camera, £140.
Milk jug, £35.
Document kid gloves, framed, £190.
And finally some crazy cute Music brogues, £50, or framed £95. I would really like one of the framed items, they are all so unique and would fit in so well in our home. Maybe I shall have to treat myself to an early Christmas gift ...
All pictures belong to Jennifer Collier. If not linked to the store, I found the pictures on her main website.

Okay, so I know I rather frequently use the term genius and brilliant about stuff that I really like. But this time, when I say that Luca Barcellona is a genius, I have never meant it more. The art of calligraphy is not practiced by that many nowadays, and to find this brilliant, brilliant man is sort of a revelation for me, to be honest. It is incredibly inspiring, and it almost makes me want to take a leave of absence from work and just dive into it myself. Preferably with Mr Barcellonas guidance. This is just a small selection of the work from his magical pens and brushes, I can’t stop looking at them, it is just too beautiful for words. See lots more and the man himself in action here.
So there you go, I take a bow, in utter awe of this amazing artist. Thank you Luca Barcellona, I am your devoted fan from here on after.
